It is always a pleasure to receive feedback, something we very much appreciate and encourage from our customers. We are constantly reviewing product features against customer needs and first-hand feedback is vital to our development process. Sharing success stories is always rewarding for us at MyZone as it means we've increased personal safety for more people.
Brian Reilly, Project Director at the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF), Bechtel, said: "Achieving eight million hours without a lost time incident is a safety accomplishment, but it's really about people. It's about people making safety a core value, people being vigilant for themselves and their colleagues, and people working together to build and maintain a strong safety culture." Duncan Aspin, Regional Manager at Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering said: "I was involved in the initial trials of this technology and it was clear that it was highly successful in addressing one of the most serious risks on a construction site – that of heavy plant working in close proximity to individual workers. I like the fact that it tackles issues where accidents are caused by people day-dreaming or 'switching off'. MyZone tackles this problem in a way that no other proximity warning system on the market appears to do, by alerting the individual into taking evasive action themselves, rather than relying solely on the actions of the plant operator to avoid personal injury."
William Jackson Grad IOSH, Regional HSE Advisor | Balfour Beatty Construction Services UK, said: "My personal view is that the MyZone Worker Alert System is an excellent innovative aid to personal awareness and is an affordable addition in enhancing existing established on site safe working practices. MyZone will assist in addressing one of the construction industries biggest safety concerns, the pedestrian – plant interface and will be a welcome ally in the fight to achieve the goal of Zero- Harm across the construction industry."
Mackin Limited said: "We are delighted to have rolled out the MyZone Worker Alert System on our Bulk Excavation & Capping Beam project in Colindale Gardens.
This system provides an enhanced control measure for segregation of people and plant by creating a virtual exclusion zone of between 3 & 10m around heavy machinery. A transmitter device is attached to our plant, and a receiver is attached discreetly to the hard hats of ground staff. Once the person enters the pre-set exclusion zone they are alerted via a vibration of the receiver device.
A very worthwhile investment that's been well received by all."

Tony Palombo, Wilson James' Director of Operations (Construction), said: "The only complaint I ever received about it – and it's a consistent one – is from workers who don't have it. Its simple modular design of transmitters together with Hard Hat mounted receivers, which work out at just a few pence a day each, make MyZone an affordable addition in enhancing existing site safety procedures."
The judges for the Considerate Constructors award said, as the honour was bestowed on Birse Civils Limited – Saints Stadium Access Improvements, St Helens "Full marks are now only awarded for something truly exceptional, which in this case was the MyZone Worker Alert System."
Anthony Greene, Senior Site Manager - John Sisk & Son Major Project Division, said: "The MyZone system is an excellent addition to the PPE already worn on sites. All of our construction workers have welcomed the additional safety element it provides and we will definitely carry on using it."
